At Seniors Helping Seniors Bellingham / Friends of Woodrose Ministry, we believe that everyone deserves dignity, nourishment, and a sense of belonging. Our food pantry isn’t just about providing meals—it’s about creating a community of care, support, and connection for the seniors we serve.

                              Our Mission

Since our founding in June 2023, we’ve been committed to ensuring that no senior in our community feels forgotten or left behind. Many seniors face financial hardships, mobility issues, and isolation, making it difficult to access nutritious food. We aim to bridge that gap by providing high-quality, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared meals in a welcoming, judgment-free environment.

                              What We Do

• Fresh & Healthy Food: We strive to provide nutritious options that are not only filling but also cater to dietary needs, including low-sodium, vegetarian, and vegan choices.

• Mini Salad Bar: We now offer a small but fresh salad bar to encourage healthier eating.

• Ready-to-Cook Squash & Soup: We clean and prep fresh squash, making it oven-ready, and prepare homemade soups that are both healthy and delicious to stock our freezers.

• Friday Lunch Gatherings: Every Friday, we serve a hot entrée in our dining area, creating a space where seniors can eat together, share stories, and enjoy music from their era. More than a meal, it’s a moment of connection and joy.

                          Why This Matters

Seniors Helping Seniors Bellingham is unique because we serve a close-knit, private apartment community of around 200 units, with nearly 80 residents relying on our pantry for support. This gives us the ability to personally know the people we serve, understand their needs, and measure success by the smiles we see and the friendships we help foster.

For many, this pantry is more than a food source—it’s a lifeline, a place of warmth, and a reminder that they are not alone. We feed the body, the mind, and the spirit.
