Seniors Helping Seniors Bellingham Welcomes You
and
Friends Of Woodrose
A New Song Ministry

About
At Seniors Helping Seniors Bellingham & Friends of Woodrose Ministry, we are dedicated to supporting and uplifting the seniors in the Woodrose community. Our work goes beyond providing food—we strive to create a space of dignity, care, and connection where seniors feel valued and supported.
Our Mission
Founded with the simple belief that no senior should struggle alone, our organization is run entirely by dedicated volunteers who work to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry or without the help they need. We provide nutritious food, essential services, and a welcoming environment where seniors can find both sustenance and companionship.
What We Do
-
Nutritious Food Assistance: Our pantry is always stocked with healthy, high-quality options tailored to meet diverse dietary needs.
-
A Welcoming & Lively Atmosphere: We create a friendly, supportive space where seniors can gather, share meals, and enjoy meaningful conversations.
-
Emergency Assistance & Deliveries: For those unable to visit, we offer food deliveries to ensure no one is left without meals.
-
Beyond Food – Helping Hands: Our commitment extends beyond meals—we provide help with transportation, garbage removal, and assistance in finding long-term solutions to everyday challenges.
More Than a Pantry – A Community of Care
At Friends of Woodrose, we believe in treating every senior with dignity, kindness, and respect. Whether it’s a warm meal, a friendly conversation, or a helping hand, our goal is to make life a little easier and a lot brighter for those we serve.
💙 Join us in making a difference—because no one should have to face hardship alone.
Friends Of Woodrose Ministry
Recognizing the enormity of the challenges our seniors face today, rising prices and a fixed income that doesn't keep up with inflation,
Seniors Helping Seniors Bellingham is dedicated to making a lasting impact. While our efforts are driven by our organization’s focus, we spread a wide net by investing our time in a variety of programs.

Providing Nutritious Meals for Seniors in Need
Providing for seniors is both daunting and rewarding. We're constantly looking for food sources. Overflow from local foodbanks, cash donations, or Can and Commodity drives as well as pre-landfill rescue. Volunteers are consistency needed to pick up resources, clean and manage recued food, write grants, and look for new resources.

From Idea to Reality: The Evolution of Seniors Helping Seniors Bellingham and the Friends of Woodrose Ministry.
The idea for a food pantry at Seniors Helping Seniors Bellingham became a reality when we heard about the large need at Woodrose. We knew we had to do something, and with the help of New Song church, we were able to open our doors and start providing food and support to those who need it most. We are proud to serve our community and will continue to do everything we can to help those in need.

Interview with Seniors Helping Seniors Bellingham Directors , Debra and Daniel Quint
At Seniors Helping Seniors Bellingham, we wanted to create a guilt-free pantry that helps seniors in need without shaming or judgement. We understand that food insecurity can impact more than just one's stomach and we strive to offer fresh and wholesome food choices that nourish both the body and soul. Friends of Woodrose is our Ministry, our mission, and with the help of others can make an impact.

April Newsletter – Friends of Woodrose Pantry
“Feeding Community, Nourishing Hope”
Dear Friends,
As spring brings new growth and renewal, we’re reminded of the strength and resilience of our Woodrose community—and the importance of neighbors helping neighbors.
Each month, Friends of Woodrose Pantry provides over 2,000+ meals to tables and 350+ Friday lunches to seniors who depend on us. But behind the scenes, we face the same question month after month:
Will we have enough to continue?
We’re writing today with honesty and hope—because we can’t do this alone.
Our Pantry Needs: April Focus
We are especially in need of:
Shelf Stable Milk- regular, soy or oat
Canned Fruit – peaches, pears, fruit cocktail, pineapple
Canned Proteins – tuna, chicken, chili,
Shelf-stable Fresh Items – potatoes, carrots, apples, oranges
Fresh Produce – any seasonal fruits or vegetables are appreciated
Dairy- Milk (1/2 gallons and Eggs
We use 15-20lbs of a protein to make the Friday Lunches, thats usually ground beef, chicken or pork.
These staples help us provide balanced meals for our seniors—meals that bring comfort, nourishment, and dignity.
How You Can Help
Monetary Donations
A recurring monthly donation—no matter the size—makes a huge difference.
It helps us plan ahead, shop smart, and stretch every dollar further.
You can set up ongoing support through our website:
www.shsbellingham.com
Every dollar you give goes straight to feeding seniors in need—no overhead, no middlemen. We’re 100% volunteer-run (yes, that means Debra and me too), and every bit of your kindness turns into real food on someone’s plate. We handle everything ourselves—filings, taxes, bookkeeping—and when times get tight, we even reach into our own pockets to keep things going. Your support means everything.
A Word of Gratitude
To everyone who has donated food, volunteered time, or shared a kind word—thank you.
Your generosity keeps our shelves stocked and our hearts full.
Together, we can make sure no senior at Woodrose goes without a meal.
With appreciation and hope,
Debra & Daniel Quint
